To be in the race first or to get some advantage of being first, Honda Motors has been gearing up to launch their hatch Brio.
If the rumors are any true, the launch Honda Brio will be by April. Indian business news daily, The Economic Times reports that the Japanese car maker will launch Honda Brio by March-April.
It should be remembered that Honda Motors earlier announced Brio will be launched during Diwali 2011. However, the launch advancement (if it's any true) could be to ward off the competition coming up from Maruti Swift and also Toyota Motors' Etios Liva.
Maruti has been tight lipped about the launch of new 2011 Swift although there are talks that it will be during the first half of 2011 and Toyota seems all set and shuttering up to roll down the much awaited hatchback Etios Liva in April. The heat from yet to be launched Swift and Etios Liva has shaken team at Honda Motors to reschedule the launch of Brio. Rumors are rife that the launch date for Honda Brio will be March 17, 2011.
Honda Jazz which was raved by auto journalists all across India as a feature loaded and comfort on 4wheels had bombed when it came to hitting the pulse of market. It is talked that keeping their flop pricing in view Honda Motors will have the Brio priced competitively. The Honda Brio will be pitted against Maruti Swift, Nissan Micra, Ford Figo, Hyundai i20, Skoda Fabia and VW Polo. Honda aims to take a piece of the small car segment with their Brio.
But this would be exciting for those who can wait patiently 4 to 5 months to lay hands on the car, for the company will deliver the Brio only from August-September as the production of the hatchback hasn't even started....phew!
