TATA Motors announced price rise on its passenger vehicles on Friday March 18th. The company announced that the prices of passenger vehicles wef April 01, 2011. However the company has made it clear that the people's car Tata Nano will be exempted from the increase in price.
Customers will have to fork out Rs. 7,000 to 9,000 more for passenger car Tata Indica. The Tata Indica Vista and Tata Indigo CS will get dearer by Rs. 8,000 and Rs.11,000, respectively. The recently launched successful Tata Manza too will become costilier by over Rs.10k to Rs.15k.
The MPVs also will follow similar trend according to the company, and the price of Tata Venture goes up by Rs. 9,000 to Rs.12, 000.
The Tata Sumo will go up by Rs. 13k - Rs.15 k and the price of Tata Sumo Grande will be costlier by Rs.16 k to Rs.19 k. The Tata Safari becomes dearer by Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 29,000. The Tata Aria price will be increased by over Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 36,000. The company substantiated that the price rise will help them cope with the steep increase in the input as well as production costs. In the meantime other auto companies too are mulling with price hike idea and in the coming days more such announcements are anticipated from them.
