Ambassador to get complete makeover

Ambassador to get complete makeover - In terms of aerodynamics, aesthetics and engine calibrations

In a turn around of events in the auto industry you are especially surprised to get news like this- Hindustan Motors' Ambassador will get a new life.

In an attempt to rejuvenate the Amby the big daddy of Indian car maker, the Hindustan Motors plans to go retro and make a new generation alluring Ambassador.

The bonnet will be tweaked to suit aerodynamics and will feature neat lines, and the retro Ambassador will take on Indian entry level sedans head on feature to take on the modern sedans with a wraparound headlamps that could look somewhat resembling Maruti Swift. It is expected as of now that the tail lamps will be integrated into the body and do not stick off the boot.

All this point to a big design rework for the Ambassador with not deviating off the retro lines so the vintage appeal is retained while adding some exciting features worth looking forward to. The new age features will include latest technology including ABS with EBD and engine redesign and calibrations (the company will bring in contemporary petrol and common rail diesel engines in place of ISUZU power mills that the current Ambassadors are running) to make it more fuel efficient and suit to the modern day commuting costs. Even the dash will get complete makeover and so do the interiors which will be spruced up into wood grain interiors and leather upholstery to give the already spacious and comfortable Ambassador, the element of luxury.

It is expected that the Hindustan Motors will not fiddle with the Ambassador's strengths: roominess and comfort. The coming months look hell lot of exciting for the iconic Indian car; because when its critics called for the head the car is set to come revamped and as even more alluring edition.

This would be one great opportunity for the design house to work and resurrect the legendary brand that's at the brink of death. If this can happen, the Ambassador might well be seen plying by our grandchildren too.

Godspeed you, Hindustan Motors!
