Even before the new Swift is launched, the auto company starts booking for the new Swift and the company says old Swift bookings will be converted to the new which will be launched in August 2011. There is so much of hype built around the new Maruti Swift and so many buyers waiting for the launch of this successful car from the Maruti's stable. Looks, K series engine and mileage will be the USPs of the new Swift. Let's see in detail about these: Maruti's K series engines seem to be the kickass engines around making so much buzz in the auto circles. The auto maker hasn't gotten enough from the million K-Series engines it has made already, as buyers have an attitude of asking for more even from the best one around.
Here is another K Series under the hood of the new Maruti Swift 2011 that the buyers are eagerly waiting for. Yes we are talking about the K-Series engine that adorns the new Swift which is going to come off wraps in August 2011.
The 1.2l engine with dual VVT is waiting to rock the auto world with its awesomeness. The VVT which means variable valve timing is the technology that is embraced by car makers for the petrol engines across the globe to reduce the thirst of the engines while simultaneously whipping out more performance from the engine.
The dual VVT technology mated to the 1.2l engine of the new Swift Petrol that's set for August 2011 launch has variable valve timing technology for intake and the exhaust valves, implying the power is pushed up by an additional 10 Bhp (and that's a whopping amount) from 80 to 90 Bhp in addition to improving fuel economy.
As news trickles out about the new Maruti Swift there is something more that we want to share with the readers. The 1.2l 90 Bhp petrol engine would run for 20 km for a liter of petrol, the K series are proving beyond any doubt that they are one of the most drivable as well as the most fuel efficient engines. Besides the petrol version of the new Swift is going to come with a 4 speed auto trany that makes it more worth waiting for (only other car that sport auto transmission in this segment is Hyundai i20). Should the new Swift manage the fuel economy (ARAI certified 20 kmpl), it would still become the most fuel efficient hatch in the B segment, it is much better than the 18kmpl that the new Toyota Etios LIVA is giving.
What's interesting to note here is that the new Swift will have a plastic fuel tank that reduces the kerb weight of the car (the tank is about 25% lighter than conventional metal tank). The reduction in the kerb weight should also help with enhancing the mileage of the new Swift (the auto maker breaks down the mileage gain and says about 10-15% gain would come from the plastic fuel tank).
That's not all...the new Swift with the 1.3 multi jet diesel engine is going to give you more shock - pushing up the fuel economy bar with amazing 23.8kmpl. With looks so tempting and peppyness in the engine the fuel economy too is one thing that prompts buyers to wait for the launch of the small beast despite so much delay. With sales slumped for many reasons, Maruti Auto pins many hopes on the New Swift and the company already started pre launch bookings for the car.
