Tata Indigo e-CS VX variant launched

Tata Indigo e-CS has been the most fuel efficient sedan, but not anymore, it has lost the title to its sibling/another variant Indigo e-CS VX.

Tata Motors has launched Indigo variant with fuel efficiency better than its predecessor Indigo e-CS. The new variant, Indigo e-CS VX will now become the most fuel efficient sedan in the Auto Industry giving a fuel economy of 25 km per liter.



The diesel version runs on CR4 diesel engine and the petrol version runs on an MPFi engine. While the diesel fuelled version of the new Indigo e-CS VX comes with a price tag of at Rs 5,80,339 lacs the petrol version which is Tata Indigo e-CS GVX comes with a price tag of Rs 4,97,727 lacs (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Indigo e-CS VX and Indigo e-CS GVX come with all the bells and whistles besides giving envious fuel economy including:

Power steering and power windows
Body colored bumpers and mirrors
Turn indicators on ORVMs
14-Inch alloy wheels
Satin-finish front grille
Satin-finish headlamps
Rub rails with chrome inserts
Double tone interiors with beige combination
Electrically operable ORVMs
Wooden-finish central console
Middle seat with armrest in the rear for additional comfort
ABS
Keyless entry
Bluetooth
Instrument cluster with chrome touches

Tata Motors is offering a warranty on both Indigo e-CS VX and Indigo e-CS GVX for 18-months or unlimited mileage.

With a slimmed boot the Tata Indigo CS had earlier paved way for new segment in sedans. The sub 4-meter tax-efficient package Tata Indigo CS has become quite popular in the market and has dominated the mid sized sedan segment for about four years offering classy looks and value for money. Expect more of the sub-4-meter brands including Maruti Dzire and Mahindra Verito which may join the league by 2012.

Can this move by Tata Motors give the company some piece of the sedan market? Time will have the answer.
