Ferrari FF (meaning Ferrari Four) is a GT car (Grand Tourer) from the Italian car maker has made its debut at the Geneva Auto Show March 2011 and ever since it came off the wraps it sure has given sports car enthusiasts many sleepless nights. Why not, it has got 6.3 liter V12 mill to give 660 bhp @8000rpm to make one freeze and an astonishing top torque of 683 Nm @6000 rpm, it touches 100 kmph speed from 0 at the blink of your eye (3.7 seconds). The 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox kickbutts the power mill to throw up all its bhp on to the road as you accelerate.
The smart four-wheel-drive system (although most time it'd be rear wheel drive) laughs in the face of competition, but seriously is there any competition for the Ferrari Four?
The four-wheel-drive mechanism is controlled by clutches and electronics near the engine and should there be any wheel slip the electronics detect the same and transmit the drive to the front tyres (one or both) through the clutches.
Does it mean anything for ordinary sports car enthusiast? It sure; because one doesn't miss the feel of the drive yet one can drive the Ferrari FF through any terrain....even the snow-laden one. Top speed will be a galloping 335 kmph. Styled by Pininfarina, Ferrari FF gets the heart and soul by the Ferrari itself.
The GT sports car still behaves as a family car and it swallows in good family luggage. The two-door-four-seater car does a voodoo on the road with Ferrari technology including the center differential, F1-Trac and PTU (Power Transfer Unit) which gives one all freedom to explore its possibilities and limits without any hassle. I only wish I get a chance to ride the beauty at least for once in my life.
