The employees union has come to a consensus with the Maruti management, and there is buzzing activity in the plant. And with all things in place, Maruti is planning to gain people’s focus back to the new Swift to revive back the fortune for the company. The new Swift has raked in as many as one lakh bookings with less than 20,000 cars rolled on to the roads so far. The biggest challenge for the company now is to bridge the gap between demand and supply of the new Swift and the Managing EO for Production, Mr MM Singh admitted the company is ready to boost up the production for the new Swift. The company’s second line will become fully functional in January 2012. From then on the company plans to roll out 18000-20000 Swifts every month. The output from the plant will be increased to 2100 from 1400 a day and to bring about all the company plans to even hire more man power.

In all, the company plans to clear off all pending bookings by April 2012. This should sound good to all new Swift prospects who are contemplating on drifting off the Swift.
