BMW Premium Selection makes owning BMW car at low cost possible

BMW India president Andreas Schaaf has officially launched the BMW Premium Selection today in Gurgaon. He said that the company has sold about 8042 units until October 2011. The company believes with the new BMW Premium Selection it will better its position, although the company expects its used car business to account for 10% of its sales.

When asked about difference in price between new and the used cars, the President said that all of the pre-owned cars sold by BMW Premium Selection will be less than 5 years old or run under 120,000 km (whichever comes earlier). As an example 3 Series BMW sedan used for three years will be sold at Rs. 16 lakhs (else be ready to shell out Rs. 24 lakhs for the same brand new 3 Series BMW sedan).

The company will sell its pre-owned cars through seven BMW Premium Selection dealerships. The company hopes to add more dealerships in the coming couple of years. To push the sales of pre-owned cars the company is even giving finance options @ 13% interest rate through BMW Financial Services. And also offers warranty for 2 years or 200,000 km (whichever comes earlier).

Mercedes has been a year old in the used car market already and changing market scenario are forcing even luxury car makers to enter the business.
