Fiat Linea T-Jet : Fiat's answer to adversaries

The most beautiful now becomes most powerful

Following the huge success of Fiat Linea and beautiful baby Punto Fiat India has come up with Fiat Linea T-Jet, with turbo jet engine. The company offered two variants though - Fiat Linea T-Jet and the Fiat Linea T-Jet Plus.

The car is powered by a 1.4 liter petrol engine generating maximum power of 114 Bhp and maximum torque of 207 Nm, which indeed improves its power and removes the tag of 'Slow' from the Linea which debuted in 2007. In fact, Linea T-Jet becomes the first turbo engine car (petrol) in the segment. The new T-Jet is pitted against mid-range sedans including Ford Fiesta, Honda City, SX4 from Maruti Suzuki, and Hyundai Verna.

Design and Styling of the Fiat Linea T-Jet
The Linea T-Jet gets design by Fiat Style Centre which accented the car with elegance and appealing contemporary style elements. They had put in the Italian style cues into the car's design while not deviating from the brand's signature. The smooth ridge that tapers off the grille incorporating to the sides gives it classy look. The bumper looks lighter and complements the looks with a combination of dual parabolic headlights and fog lights. The headlights look as though the car is yelling to be dynamic. Apart from that, the body type of Linea T-Jet is made to give a solid and muscular and robust appearance. The car is roomy and great in dimensions.

Interiors of the Fiat Linea T-Jet
The interior designing is more or less look unchanged from earlier Linea, the Emotion Pack variant of the Linea. The undistorted style lines in the passenger cabin give it a harmonious and balanced touch to the interiors.

The interiors are given a balance between ergonomics and aesthetics and the dual toned interiors with leather steer wheel complement them further. The electronically-powered mirrors complement the suave demeanor of the Linea.

Convenient features such as tray and cup holder at the rear, on the armrest makes Linea so much adorable. The audio control and AC fascia give it 'charms a lot' look. A step into the car will make anyone fall for the style and luxury.

Driving would be a pleasant experience in Linea T-Jet since the pedals, steering wheel, armrest, and footrest are perfectly located to add to driver's comfort. The driver can easily handle the car.

Magneti Marelli has designed the instrument panel of the Linea T-Jet and the car oozes family touch. During nights, it is easy for the driver to focus driving, thanks to the innovative 'Blue&Me' system which is a Windows Mobile based technology, jointly developed by Fiat and Microsoft. The technology enables the insiders to have communication, information and entertainment while not getting distracted, it helps improve quality of driving experience as the driver can talk to the rest of the world while his hands still on the steer wheel. The rear seat is designed to fit three passengers. The Isofix car seats make the rear a safe haven for your children.

Besides the Blue&Me technology the new Fiat Linea T Jet comes with a hoard of features such as power windows with auto down function, tilt steering that add to long driving comfort, remote tailgate open function, adjustable (electric) rear view mirrors, automatic climate control, Bluetooth enabled and an integrated CD/MP3 and FM Player.

The new Fiat Linea T Jet also is a safety haven with features including, driver seat belt warning, FPS (Fire Prevention System), double-crank protection system, engine immobilizer with a rolling code (FCS), ABS with EBD (Anti-lock Braking System with electronic brake distribution) technology, seat belts with pre-tensioners and dual-stage driver and passenger airbags.

Variants of the new Fiat Linea T-Jet
There are two variants offered, which are T-Jet and T-Jet Plus. T-jet is designed with fabric interior and 15" steel rims with full wheel covers while the T-Jet Plus offers all leather interiors and 16" alloy wheels. The new Fiat Linea T-Jet comes in a range of exciting colors including Tuscan Wine, Sunbeam Beige, Bossa Nova White, Fox Trot Azure and Hip Hop Black.

- Fiat Linea T-Jet Plus : Rs. 9,29,000
- Fiat Linea T-Jet : Rs. 8,55,000
- Fiat Linea T-Jet Plus : Rs. 8,99,000

Final word:
T-Jet could be a new entrant, but it will exceed the expectations of a person who drove Honda City for years. Besides, the price point of the Linea T Jet is also irresistible to pick it over its adversaries. If only people realize and know what the Italian car maker offered for them in the new Linea T Jet people will go and buy it blindfolded. It feels there is no way that the adversaries could beat the Italian beauty and the VFM, Turbo Jet Linea except the post sales and service that suck with Fiat. Should Fiat except to give its competitors, the Honda or the SX4 a run for their money, it has to do much in the after-sales department.
