Skoda calls it 'Shock Coupe'. Certainly a stunning machine with just 3 doors and in the platform of Volkswagen Scirocco. It is none other than Skoda's the all new Joyster. The super-mini sized car, the Joyster was earlier debuted in the 2006 Paris Motor Show and grabbed a lot of fan following there. But the consortium needed nearly half dozen of years to roll out the Joster on the road.
As the Joyster debuts on road this year in the European market, evolutions taken place on it can be realized rather than the 2006 model. Official website of Skoda states that the launch of the Joyster is expected towards the end of 2013.
The Joyster will be available in both petrol and diesel. It is expected to be installed with Volkswagen's Scirocco. Hence the 1.4-litre petrol turbos in 121bhp and 158bhp guises. Meanwhile, a 2.0-litre TDIs diesel engine bringing out 138bhp and 168bhp will be included in the diesel model. Either a six-speed manual or a seven-ratio DSG will be the gearbox options.
In addition to it, a vRS model powered by a 2.0-litre petrol turbo engine, which pumps around 210bhp and get the car to 0-100 kmph in just six seconds and to a top speed of 250 kmph.
The Joyster starts at a price tag of £16,000.
