The launch of the Abarth 595 is perhaps one of the events that every car lover might be looking forward to. Abarth, as the name suggests is the performance brand from Fiat, and hence, it has been crafted with a racing spirit in its blood.
The Abarth 595 is an embodiment of pure, uncompromising performance. Energized by an engine displacement of 1368cc, this four cylinder T-jet develops 160HP of power at 5500rpm and 201Nm of torque which can be further enhanced to 230Nm (when shifting to sports mode). And this is why the Abarth 595 can be considered as one of the most powerful cars available in this category in the country.
Going by the looks, Abarth 595 is blessed with a fresh and friendly design, with a tough-guy poise blended into it, thus making this car endearing to all. However, the Abarth 595 is a definite stand out from the rest of the Fiat cars. One may not find the Fiat logo and name moulded anywhere on this car, but instead, a beautifully crafted scorpion turns up at the usual places such as the grille and the steering wheel and in some unexpected places like the seat-back recline adjustor and the fuel-filler cap.
According to a company spokesperson, the car will be imported into India as a completely built unit, with a quoted price in the Rs 25-30 lakh range. The exact prices would be revealed at the time of the launch, which would probably happen by the end of next month.
