Special Edition Vento Magnific Launched

Volkswagen brings in a special edition for the Vento. And it is magnificent!

The German automobile manufacturer Volkswagen added a bit of magnificence to the existing model of the Vento and brought out a new special edition in the automobile market, which would be called by the name Volkswagen Vento Magnific.

To keep pace with the competition received in the sedan segment, Volkswagen has been adding more and more changes and upgrading its existing cars with facelifts since its initial launch in 2010. In 2014, the manufacturer had released another version of the Vento known as the Vento Konekt, which focused more on the entertainment part of the drive. The new Magnific is based on the same model, but the only difference- it has been upgraded with more features on the entertainment and aesthetic side as well.

The new edition has been designed and sold in two trims namely the Highline and Comfortline trims. The Highline trim is categorized as a top-end model featuring the Blaupunkt Infotainment system that has been armed with 3G network connectivity offering access to TV, games and social media, along with rear-displays as well. The rear displays are basically tablets, built on the Android OS platform, with capacitive touchscreens placed at the back of the front seats, with tablet holders fitted into the head restraints of the seats. On the Comfortline trim, which is relatively mid-level, the manufacturers have given more importance to the aesthetic side of the car by providing it with new alloy wheels along with scuff plates that feature the Vento badge as well as the Garmin Navigation device on the dashboard.

Looking on to the mechanical aspects of this special edition sedan, the powertrain that has been the same along the variants of the Vento. The diesel variants get a 1.5-litre engine that is expected to deliver a maximum power output of 105PS and maximum torque of 250Nm, while the petrol variants come equipped with a 1.6 litre engine which gives out a power outburst of 106PS and a peak torque of 153Nm. However, the Magnific would get the manual transmission, while the regular Vento gets an automatic transmission with an optional DSG transmission.

The dual front airbags, powerful dual-beam frontlamps, and a flat-bottomed steering wheel which has been enabled with multi-function buttons, comes as a standard on all the Vento variants and hence, the Magnific also gets the same, though, it would be of better quality.

The Vento Magnific is priced in the range of Rs 8-10 lakhs, whose prices (ex-showroom, New Delhi) may vary according to the trims and engine variants on the sedan. The petrol variant of the Vento Magnific Comfortline comes at an estimated price of Rs 8.57 lakh while the Highline trim would be sold at a price of Rs 9.26 lakhs. On the diesel options, the Comfortline trim is priced at Rs 9.84 lakhs, while the Highline trim comes at a price of Rs 10.42 lakhs.

The special edition Vento Magnific would go on sale from March 10th 2015, and would be available only in limited number of units.
