BMW 1 Series Facelift Launched - “Life's Not A Race” Said Those Who Lost.

A much silent affair, the new 1 series was launched with no bells and horn sounds.

The BMW 1 Series is a series of compact luxury cars manufactured by the German automaker BMW. A successor to the BMW Compact, it has been produced in four different body styles. The vehicle was previously showcased at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. The updated hatchback comes with a new SUV-esque look and sheds the awkward station wagon-esque styling that received substantial criticism in the past. The new 118d Sportline trim features the same 1995cc, turbocharged diesel unit that was seen in the previous 1-series.

Powerful lines and large inlets indicate just how much energy is at the drivers disposal. Flat, focused headlights, which are available as an option with full LED technology, point towards the heart of the front, the double kidney grille comes with a chrome surround. The dynamic overall impression whets the appetite for unadulterated driving sensations. At the rear, large wheel housings and a wide track emphasize the close contact with the road surface. The L-shaped LED rear lights are an undeniable eye-catcher and portray that its a typical BMW vehicle that's conquering the streets. Adaptive LED headlights with full LED technology include, integrated turn indicators, low-beam headlights, as well as daytime running lights and cornering lights for safety.

Eight high-power LEDs are provided for the low-beam and high-beam functions. The dynamic-looking, elongated LED turn indicators are placed strikingly to the sides of the characteristic LED daytime running lights. The high-beam assistant and adaptive headlights with variable light control for driving on city and country roads as well as motorways provide significant improvements during night-time drive, which results in the safety for secure and relaxed driving, similar to the day drive. The two-part rear lights with the characteristic L-shaped design are based on LED technology. They consist of one lighting segment in the body of the car and one in the tailgate. Thanks to the dynamic brake light function, other cars tailing behind are warned by these flashing brake lights.

The 8-speed transmission sets new benchmarks in comfort and dynamic performance and is a key element of BMW Efficient Dynamics. The unusually fine increments between gears facilitate optimum power delivery at all speeds. This reduces fuel consumption significantly, while allowing the driver to enjoy increased sportiness and dynamic performance. The engine speed is reduced, particularly at high speeds, which in turn reduces both fuel consumption and engine noise. Integrated functions such as predictive drive train and the constant monitoring of the vehicle's movements and the traffic situation considerably affect the way the transmission shifts gears. Regardless of the current driving mode, the system always selects the most suitable gear. The transmission control unit is linked to the navigation system, so depending on the route, the predictive drivetrain switches between a more athletic, responsive setting which is refereed to as the 'Sport' mode, which is an available option in the car as well as a comfortable setting with fewer gear shifts namely 'Comfort' mode which is available too as standard.

Fresh, modern and straightforward. That's the impression created by the interior of the BMW 1-series at a first glance. The cockpit has typical BMW driver orientation and the whole interior is characterized by top-quality design right down to the last detail. The standard-feature BMW Radio Professional is accompanied by various different chrome accents and a bezel in high-gloss Black. The 360 litre luggage compartment can accommodate your shopping bags, backpack or large items of luggage, with sunglasses, cameras and other smaller objects stored in the doors and in the center console. Exclusive surfaces give the interior an even more modern appearance, and personal touches are provided by the Urban Line, Sport Line and M Sport packages.

The vehicle is priced at ₹29.9Lakhs, which could be considered a reasonable priced BMW make. This model is rumored to be competing against the Mercedes-Benz A-Class and the Volvo V40. 3 well off brands competing against each other, with their reasonably priced models, 'Neat' is the word that should define the emotion.
