Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Final Edition Unveiled

Mercedes-Benz has revealed their top-end variant in the SLS AMG GT lineup, the SLS AMG GT Final Edition. The car was simultaneously unveiled at the LA and Tokyo motor shows. Unfortunately, there will be only 350 units built.



The machine is powered by AMG's 6.3-liter V8 engine, which develops a max power of 583 hp and a peak 479 lb-ft of torque. The heart is mated to AMG's seven-speed dual clutch.



It clocks 0-60 in just 3.6-second and 124 mph arrives in 11.2 seconds. The top speed is 197 mph, that is electronically limited.



The Final Edition is comprised of an exposed carbon fiber hood with central air outlet, carbon-fiber front and rear splitters, AMG forged light-alloy wheels and matte paint.



"As the first car to be completely developed by AMG, the SLS AMG marked the beginning of a new era for our company. And now, in the form of the SLS AMG GT Final Edition, we are offering our customers one final and extremely attractive variant of our super sports car,” said Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.



The SLS AMG GT Final Edition will be available in both coupe and roadster form from March 2014 onwards.
