Audi to Launch Q1 in 2016

The entry level SUV from Audi.

Finally, we have the confirmation about the launch of Audi Q1. According to the official words the Q1 will get into production in 2016 and will hit the market in the same year.



It's been almost a couple of years since the German automobile maker is humming on the Q1. The upcoming Q1 will be based on the Volkswagen Group’s versatile MQB architecture. That's touch-ups from Audi A3, VW Golf, and next generation Polo will be cued over the vehicle.

“The Q1 is part of our broad-based SUV strategy and a key component of our growth strategy. It is designed on the modular transverse engine concept,” said Audi chairman Rupert Stadler.

The Q1 will be the fourth in the Sport Utility Vehicle line-up of the company beneath the Q3.

The vehicle is expected to come in both petrol and diesel hearts under the hood. The petrol will be burned out by a 1.4 Liter TFSI four cylinder engine which is likely to generate a peak power from 125 hp to 150 hp, while the top variant may even generate up to 200 hp.

At the same time, the diesel heart will be a 1.2 Liter TDI which is capable to produce a max power of 80 hp. Meanwhile, the 1.6 liter diesel may generate even a peak power up to 120 hp.
