The US EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and the Department of Energy have announced the most fuel-efficient vehicles in a new ranking for the year 2014. In the 2014 year line-up, Chevrolet Spark EV tops with a combined 119 mpg equivalent. Chevy's electric machine offers 128 mpg in the city and 109 mpg on the highway.
The Spark EV fired out the previous year's champ, the Scion 2013 iQ EV which had 121 mpg equivalent rating! Unfortunately, the machine is not for the 2014 race.
Followed by Honda Fit EV is ranked at second with a combine 118 mpg. It has 132 mpg in city and 105 mpg on highway.
While the third spot is taken by Fiat 500e with 116 combine mpg. 122 mpg in city and 108 mpg on highway are what the vehicle returns.
The fourth place has got snatched away by Smart fortwo EV with a combined 116 mpg, featuring 122 mpg in city and 93 mpg on highway.
Ford's Focus Electric is in the fifth place with 105 combined mpg. It returns 110 in city and 99 on highway.
