All auto-makers are in rush. Because, the Detroit Auto Show is just a couple of weeks away. British iconic premium car manufacturer, Mini is the latest to buzz auto-columns. The story is that Mini has unveiled John Cooper Works (JCW) concept in a new style. The car will be officially wrapped off at the Detroit Auto Show, in January 2014.
The all new economy vehicle comes with a longer wheelbase and wider track compared to its predecessor. This is absolutely surprising since Mini goes for decrementing the size of their models every year. The another surprise is that it has a reduced weight.
It is shaded in gray paintwork with red accents. It is the “Bright Highways” gray paint, which is made with a special manufacturing process. And this gives the look of brushed aluminum. Well, the red stripes, which is exactly the “Chili” red run across the hood and rear.
It is mated with new 18-inch JCW light alloy wheels which are brushed in red accents, new aerodynamics with new air intakes in place of fog lights, a general reworking of the bumper, LED headlights and a black grille in the front.
The existing John Cooper Works is powered by aa turbocharged 1.6-liter engine producing 211 hp and 191 lb-ft of torque. It's not sure whether a update with the engine is there or not.
