Mercedes-Benz has announced the production version of GLA45 AMG. The car will be officially unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show, in the USA. Earlier, the firm had showcased the concept of GLA45 AMG at the LA Auto Show last year.
MB has slightly redesigned the GLA45 from the concept model to keep the machine up to date. However, the basic design is still maintained over there. It is powered by a super-duty turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that powers the CLA45 AMG performance sedan.
The power-class delivers a peak power of 355 hp and a peak torque of 332 lb-ft. The heart is mated with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic that is coupled with MB's 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.
MB claims that the GLA45 AMG needs only 4.8 seconds to clock 0-60 mph. And top speed is 155 mph, which is electronically limited. The standard 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system tuned by AMG splits the torque equally (50:50) and transmits it to both front and rear wheels.
The interior of the car is almost similar to the CLA45. It sports a standard leather trim. MB offers a variety of upgrades such as colored leather, carbon fiber, and red seatbelts.
The GLA45 AMG is expected to reach MB outlets in 2014 fall. The car is likely to be priced just under $50,000.
