MG Motor India Unveils the MG Astor 2024: A Fusion of Technology and Style

MG Motor India has recently introduced the MG Astor 2024, marking a significant milestone in the competitive SUV segment in India. With a starting price of Rs 9.98 lakh (ex-showroom), this model emerges as a strong contender against established players like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, as well as the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and Volkswagen Taigun.

Versatile Variants and Powertrain Options

The MG Astor 2024 is available in several variants, including Sprint, Shine, Select, Sharp Pro, and Savvy Pro, catering to a diverse range of preferences and budgets. In terms of power, the Astor offers two engine choices: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine producing 110bhp and 144Nm torque, and a more powerful 1.3-litre turbocharged engine delivering 140bhp and 220Nm. The 1.5-litre engine pairs with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT, while the 1.3-litre engine is exclusively linked to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Feature-Rich and Connected Driving Experience

MG Motor India emphasizes the importance of technology in the MG Astor 2024. The car includes amenities such as ventilated front seats, a wireless charger, and support for wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a panoramic sunroof. The updated i-Smart 2.0 system offers an advanced user interface with over 80 connected features, enhancing the driving and user experience.



One of the notable innovations is the Jio voice recognition system integrated into the i-Smart 2.0, which offers advanced voice commands. This system can provide updates on weather, cricket scores, and even include features like a calculator, clock, horoscope, dictionary, and news.

A New Era of Safety and Automation in SUVs

The MG Astor 2024 sets a benchmark in safety with 49 safety features. It is the first SUV in India to incorporate a personal AI assistant and 14 autonomous Level 2 features. These include mid-range radars and a multi-purpose camera, enabling a variety of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
