Till the date, Ford India Private Limited hasn't revealed any technical specifications rather than some relevant features which are extremely exceptional comparing its competitors; Renault Duster, upcoming Mahindra mini SUV Quanto, and veiled Maruti and Hyundai SUVs.
However, rumours predict that the EcoSport is to be equipped with a 1.6-litre petrol engine and a 1.4-litre diesel engine. It is expected to be powered by maximum power of 120 PS and peak torque of 170 NM. Since it comes under sub 4-meter length, it would be expelled from the excise duty.

“EcoSport, with a command seating position, will deliver an ‘SUVness’ in a segment that has never had SUVness before. At the same time, it will also be nimble, like a small car, in terms of flexibility in parking etc,†said Ford India’s President and Managing Director, Mr. Michael Boneham.

Ford has invested an amount of Rs. 750 crore to build a production plant of the the EcoSport in Maraimalainagar, Chennai.
