The Porsche Panamera is a luxury four-door sedan. It is front-engined with two-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive versions also available. The Porsche Panamera production model was unveiled at the 13th Auto Shanghai International Automobile Show in Shanghai, China, in 2009. In 2011, hybrid and diesel versions were launched. In April 2013, a facelift to the Panamera was announced and launched in the same venue, at the Auto Shanghai show. The Panamera has been around for a while too. The Panamera looks at the sportscar idea from a different perspective. The limousine perspective. It can seat four in utter comfort, not talking about the 2+2 configuration here. We mean four proper seats, four doors and a huge boot space. The Panamera may slot between midsize and full-size luxury sedans in terms of overall dimensions, but its hardly a middle-of-the-road product. Being Porsche's first four-door car, its controversial, since anything other than a sports car tends to put Porsche pursuits undies in a twist. Its easy to take the 2015 Porsche Panamera for granted. Porsche's groundbreaking luxury hatchback has been so good, for so long, that it just isn't top-of-mind anymore. But when you reflect on the Panamera's accomplishments, that familiarity only breeds further admiration. Entering its sixth year of production, the first-generation Panamera is still at the top of its game and it shows no signs of slowing down.
The 2015 Porsche Panamera is a four-door, four-passenger sedan with a hatchback-style trunk. There are no fewer than 11 trim levels in the international market. Each variant differs from the other, many of the fancier models' standard features are optional on lower trims, including the Turbo S's ceramic brakes and advanced chassis electronics. In typical Porsche fashion, there's a lengthy and expensive list of additional stand-alone options, highlighted by a sunroof, a roof-rack, adaptive cruise control, a rear seat entertainment system, rear view and 360-degree surround-view cameras, voice controls, a 16-speaker Burmester surround-sound audio system and a refrigerated rear compartment that includes two drinking glasses engraved with the Porsche crest and logo. The powermill propels to produce maximum power of 305hp that is accompanied with a torque of 400Nm. As per customization option these basic models can get a combination of their engine along with 7-speed Doppelkupplung. Such advance features like the double clutch transmission system enables fast gear shifts with no interruption in power flow with lower fuel consumption. Having all these drive specifications, the models can accelerate from 0-100Km in just 6.8 seconds, with a top speed of 261Km. Contradicting with this inevitable 4 trim, can accelerate from 0-100Km in just 6.1 seconds and can reach a top speed of 257Km. The Diesel trim, wraps a 3.0 litre turbocharged V6 diesel engine that is combined with variable turbine geometry. The powertrain excels to propel a power of 246hp and a maximum torque of 550Nm. Being equipped with 8-speed tiptronic S transmission, it can sprint from 0-100Km in just 6.8 seconds, with a top speed of 244Km. The top end variant Turbo, is equipped with standard 7-speed Doppelkupplung gearbox. With all these technical specifications the vehicle turns out to be one of the best performers. It sprints from 0-100in an impressive 4.1 seconds and further to a breath taking speed of 306Km.
Overall, its a versatile sportscar that'll seat four in comfort. Diesel engine makes its the most practical and economical sportscar to own. The 2015 Porsche Panamera is available in five petrol variants and one diesel variant.
It continues to be the driver's choice, among full-size luxury cars.
