2013 Honda CR-V Review

The 2.0L MT variant is available at a price tag of Rs 19.95 lakh and the 2.0L AT variant comes at Rs 20.85 lakh.

The much awaited Honda CR-V reached the Indian market. The new car is the first CR-V that assembled in India. Assembling the vehicle locally helps the Honda to cut down its price.



When the history is concerned, Honda CR-V was once amongst the most popular import cars in India. But the tough competition and the petrol-only CR-V lost its appeal. So Honda brings fourth-generation CR-V to India by assembling it locally.

Engine and Specification:
Like its previous model the new CR-V is offered with a 2.0 litre SOHC i-VTEC engine and 2.4 litre DOHC i-VTEC petrol engine. The 2.0-litre engine has offers a power of 156 PS at 6500 rpm (an increase of 13 PS over its previous model) and a torque 190 Nm at 4300 rpm, the vehicle comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission or 5-speed automatic. The 2.4-litre engine offers a power of 190 PS at 7000 rpm (an increase of 29 PS over its previous model) and a torque of 226 Nm 4400 rpm, which comes mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission.

The tyres of new CR-V comes with 265/65 17 inch tyres made by Michelin, however these tyres are a bit noisy especially on concrete roads. As per the ARAI figures, the 2.0-litre petrol CR-V's offers a fuel efficiency of 13.7 kmpl and the 2.4 litre offers 12 kmpl.

Features:
In the new CR-V, we can see everything that needed for a luxury SUV, which includes leather upholstery, powered windows and ORVM's, powered driver seat, climate control, reversing camera with proximity indicators, audio controls on the steering wheel, cruise control and a swank audio system. The top-end AVN variant also features an electric sunroof, and a 6.1-inch multimedia information display that is used to control the audio, video and navigation. A button-activated Eco mode is available for a more fuel-efficient drive.

Like its previous model, the new CR-V got a plenty of space for passengers at the rear. An additional 225 mm in the cabin, the completely flat floor makes it a genuine five-seater, and the big back seats offer plenty of comfort. The car got more luggage space of 589 litres and a 60:40 split rear seat.

Safety Features:
The new CR-V comes with vehicle stability assist (VSA), ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, 6 airbags, advance compatibility engineering (ACE), hill start assist (HSA), occupant position detection system (OPDS) as well as advanced suspension settings and motion adaptive electronic power steering.

While the 2.0L MT variant is available at a price tag of Rs 19.95 lakh, the 2.0L AT variant comes at Rs 20.85 lakh.
