The Ultimate Driving Machine BMW M2 2016

The vehicle is set to be unveiled in October and released for sales, sometime in 2016.

BMW 'M' stands for Motorsport, which is a subsidiary of the German car manufacturer BMW AG. It was initially created to facilitate BMW's racing program, which was very successful in the 1960s and 1970s. As time passed, BMW M began to supplement BMW's vehicles portfolio with specially modified higher trim models, for which they are now most known by the general public. These M-badged cars traditionally include modified engines, transmissions, suspensions, interior trims, aerodynamics and exterior modifications to set them apart from their counterparts. All M models are tested and tunes at the BMW's private facility at the Nurburgring racing circuit in Germany. BMW M also remains the only performance based company to cater motorcycles at the same time, specifically the BMW S1000RR.

Prototypes of the BMW M2 M powered were spotted around corners, being tested. There were many wannabe pap's snapping, each time a M2 prototype was taken out for a test by the team behind the making. Looks like the German manufacturer is preparing to revive the intrinsic spirit and driving appeal of its original six-cylinder powered M3 with the new racy two door, which will sit between the existing M235i and the fifth generation M3 in its line-up. Power for the new model will come from a 370hp plus turbocharged 3.0 litre six-cylinder engine. Described as an all new development, the S57 B30 designated unit is based around the German car maker's B57 powerplant which features in the sixth-generation 7 series, rather than the older N55 engine that forms the basis of the unit that powers the M3 and M4, the so called S55 B30. BMW M2 is expected to adopt much of the new chassis technology found in the M3 and M4, including an electronically controlled limited slip rear differential dubbed Active M Differential.

Sources have confirmed that the launch color palette will be limited, the M2 will be offered in Alpine white, black sapphire and mineral grey colors, three out of four colors planned at launch time long beach blue is the other one. A heavy cloak of secrecy surrounds the new engine, which is also earmarked to power a range of future petrol powered 'M Performance' models for BMW M's subordinate go faster brand. The team behind the M2 are, extremely confident in fact that the M2 will be a better drive than the highly acclaimed 1M. With a longer development time and excellent base car M235i, the M2 should deliver amazing dynamics and handling and it will be a great competitor to its very own M3 and M4.

Just like the exterior, the 2016 BMW M2 should be adopting many of the same interior elements seen on the current M performance vehicles. Highly bolstered sports seats and a grippy steering wheel, as well as unique gauges, instrumentation and controls are some which should be featuring in the vehicle. All M2's will come with just one interior color scheme, black leather with blue stitching. As for standard features, carbon inserts which will spice up the cabin with that telltale composite flair. Well since details are very limited, for sure this wouldn't be a BMW without plenty of expensive options to choose from. Expected to make the list are things like WiFi-enabled internet connectivity, a premium sound system fro Harman Kardon, two separate smartphone integration systems, power heated seats and a rear backup camera. As for the usual’s the M2 has rivals, but not like any other small car rivals, it has well established manufacturer's same power drive's as rivals. One of Mercedes-Benz models and a model of the Audi is in the wait for the M2 to be unleashed for them to play the sprinting game. Prices should be marked lower than the M4. A patient wait till October, would pay off and then an impatient wait till 2016 would blow you off.
