Since it's production in June 2012, it has achieved rapidly growing sales. The Model S was ranked as the world's second best-selling plug-in electric car in the year 2014, tagging after the Nissan Leaf. During the first half of 2015 the Model S turned out to be the top selling plug-in electric car in the U.S. This car has definitely has earned it's reputation and demands to stand beside a Mercedes or even a BMW. Being the second vehicle of the Tesla Motors, INC. there are two more vehicle in the pipeline to be revealed to the market. Tesla Motors, INC. is of American origin and mostly deals with energy, it designs, manufactures and sells electric cars, electric powertrain components and battery products. It is a public company. The price packages of the vehicle of the Tesla company are affordable and customers are satisfied.



The Tesla Model S is available in six variants including the Models S. The 2012 Model S performance model uses a 416hp rear-mounted electric motor, the base model uses a 362hp motor. The first acceleration of the vehicle was clocked at 4.2 seconds from 0-100km. The best part of the vehicle is that it's a silent killer, it wouldn't let the driver know that the acceleration or the speed of the vehicle is getting high through the means of noise. There is completely no noise whatsoever, there is no waiting for the engine to get into the power band. It does take time for amateurs, but once you get into the swing of it, you'd be in love with the driving dynamics which Telsa has endowed it's big saloon with. The main two highlights of the vehicle would be silence and smoothness, as the car is silent which is evident in 4.2 seconds, it maintains it's emotion throughout the ride and following that it sails smoothly through the roads.

Comparing the Model S to other BEV's- Battery Electric Vehicle, the battery of the vehicle is formed neatly at the bottom between the axles providing the vehicle with several advantages. This helps in making the vehicle stick to the ground due to the weight of the battery, this avoids rolling over at any steep corners. The Model S has independent coil spring suspension on all the four shoes of the vehicle, front control arm and rear multi-link. The control arm is also known as the A-arm, it is a hinged suspension link between the chassis and the suspension upright or hub that carries the wheel. The multi-link suspension is designed typically to be used in independent suspensions, using three or more lateral arms and one or more longitudinal arms. This type of suspension was first introduced in the Mercedes-Benz C111.

The first most noticeable feature when you take a glance at the interior would be the 17-inch touchscreen which is of high clarity and the response timing is out standing. Well another feature which mostly goes unnoticed is the flat floor to aid leg-room. Th feature of extra seating space would have eye-balls popping out, wondering can a sedan have seven seats in it. Which is a fact, there is a seven seater which is optional. In all the safety test rounds the car succeeded with five points and it was the first alongside with another vehicle and with holds the title for the safety car since 2011.

As the Model S is available in six variants, prices differ, the base model is priced at $59,900 and the topmost variant is at $104,500. The prices are worth it, as the car is economical and it can be defined as a daily use vehicle.
